Bloom of a Century:
Like the fabled beanstalk, the agave plant produces a once in its lifetime shoot towards the sky. Easily 20 feet or more the beautiful flowering stalk marks the tragic end to the life of a plant that may be over 50 years old. A variety of agave plants produce their own unique stalks and achieve maturity at different ages, but their towering silhouette is impressive while it lasts.
