Monument Valley:
An iconic depiction of the American southwest, conjuring memories of "spaghetti westerns" and Looney Tunes' Wile E. Coyote. In reality, it is stark and majestic. The little dirt road is spectacularly unrefined and particularly challenging to traverse in a private vehicle, but the view is worth it. The sandstone buttes stand 400-1000 feet high and encompass an equally wide diameter on the ground. In this light, the Navajo Nation's tribal park is both spellbinding and ethereal.
